Pilot Demonstrator 7 aims to show two key innovations to enhance climate resilience in transport. First, the Multimodal Hinterland Resilience Model (MHRM) integrates road, rail, and waterways to identify climate hazard hotspots and assess infrastructure measures across interconnected networks, initially focusing on the Port of Rotterdam. Based on the RA2CE framework, it enables both single- and cross-network resilience strategies. Second, a Digital Twin of Fairways (DTF) will simulate inland waterway transport in detail, extending existing Dutch models to the Rhine-Alpine corridor. Using agent-based tools like OpenCLSim and OpenTNSim, it will assess climate impacts and adaptation strategies on infrastructure and logistics.
